Consultation and Compliance

Do you need a sounding board off which you can bounce ideas?
How do all the pieces of our work fit together?
How can we be collaborative, open minded, and effective?

"Wise people understand the need to consult experts;

only fools are confident they know everything."

- Ken Poirot

Compliance and accountability are critical activities in the world of education, some may call them necessary evils. While they can be arduous, demanding, and frustrating to complete, it is fair and appropriate for families and for government entities to hold schools accountable. Families are entrusting us with their most prized possessions, and funding comes from a variety of government institutions.

With experience in a wide array of reporting, I can help. Having served at the district level of educational organizations for 11 years, I have been deeply involved in assessment, accountability, and compliance activities. In some roles, I was solely responsible.

Whether it's application and funding for Title programs, compliance and monitoring of special program areas, or federal reporting, I guarantee submissions will be timely, accurate, and complete.

My goal is to positively impact education and to help schools serve kids. I strive to support educational organizations act in student best interest, operate with financial integrity, and meet legal obligations.

Samples of Tasks Offered

01

ARD Meeting Review

Need an informal review of your organization's ARD meeting protocols? Obtain feedback and guidance on how ARD meetings can be improved by allowing an outside observer to attend. Ensure agendas and protocols meet legal requirements and local expectations for communication, documentation, and student best interest.

03

ARD Mediation

Build consensus and support while creating an effective and appropriate plan for a student. A non-threatening and objective third party can bring a divided group together and avoid litigation. With a focus on student best interest, harmony is fostered.

05

Compliance 1 & 2

There are two levels of compliance activities that can be supported:
1:) Preparation and completion of annually required self-assessment, 6-year cyclical monitoring, and annual legal compliance activities.
2:) Support and guidance for Corrective Action Plans (CAP), Strategic Support Plans (SSP), and D
istrict Improvement Plans (DIP).

02

ARD Facilitation

Facilitating an ARD meeting requires knowledge and preparation. Take those tasks off the shoulders of your staff. An ARD Facilitator brings consistency, compliance, and compassion to the ARD process and is skilled in conflict resolution and communication.

04

IEP Review

Review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for compliance with state and federal laws. Ensure they are written to reflect data, collaboration, monitoring, and review and that they have necessary documentation. This is a wise and helpful step prior to any outside reviews, such as cyclical monitoring.

06

Test Coordination

Managing assessment at the campus or district level can be a time consuming, frustrating, and difficult task that takes astute knowledge, thorough training, and detailed organization. Whether it is managing evaluations for SPED or coordinating assessments in all student populations, experience, knowledge, and expertise to formulate systems that structure the district testing program for success are essential.
